Imagine…and this is how the initial interaction began with this client—what a great start.
From an applicant, who avoided providing basic initial information that every consultant needs.
Side note: I’ve noticed a trend in this field of work—people of remarkable significance are more considerate and cooperative, than the above.
The Main Reason Immigration Consultants Need Basic Information
The reason consultants need to gather info, before starting on a visa application—is to avoid investing precious time preparing an application that is not suited for a client. It would result in a refusal from IRCC.
Here are a few examples of questions that need to be answered at the very beginning:
- What are the travel and return dates?
- What is the purpose of travel?
- Do you have a criminal record?
- Have you ever been refused a visa from Canada or any other country?
Without the above questions answered, I would not proceed with a client’s application.
If you’re about to apply for a Temporary Resident Visa for business travels, it’s critical to understand the real-world factors that shape the outcome.
No matter how urgent your plans are—or how strong your desire is to travel to Canada—visa decisions are based on:
- how the application is prepared
- when it’s submitted
